About Me

I might be described by my wife and son as a 55-year-old unapologetic otaku and obsessive collector. My love for anime started when I was young, around 1980, and lived in the Philippines, with shows like Voltez 5. I lived on Clark Air Force Base which was the only reason I was able to watch Japanese mecha/robot shows in the first place as these shows depicted rebellion and "excessive violence". At that time these types of shows were banned by martial law censorship directives in the Philippines under the Ferdinand Marcos regime. Because I lived on base, we had access to AFRTS (armed forces radio and television services) which was exempt from those martial law directives. That is where my anime roots were born and if it weren't for the AFRTS, I may have never known and grown to love anime.

I saw your blog post, and your writing is awesome! I thought you might be interested to know that the next major feature I am working on for World of Anime is a Fan Fiction section. This was in the original World of Anime, and we had some really great writers there too who wrote some great stuff. I thought you would like to know a feature specifically for writers will be coming soon. It will allow you to post stories in chapter format, and even though it is called Fan Fiction, the stories can be either tied to an anime or original stories. I hope you will enjoy this feature when I have it ready.

Wow, thank you! That means a lot to me. I think a fan fiction area would be wonderful and I support the idea 100%. I really appreciate that you enjoyed what I have so far.
