I thought you might like to see your first baby. lol I have so many amazing memories of original WOA. As for your news idea I think that would be a great idea. I think it would give users more encouragement to engage with each other. And having the Random Anime section would make this WOA feel closer to home. I love the fact that you have updated this new version of WOA after the original but still made it feel new and unique.
I plan on going through all my old USB drives from when I was a teenager. I'm sure I have more images of my WOA days somewhere. I'll keep uploading them as I find them. I don't ever want to lose any of these memories.
