WOA Homepage | World of Anime - The Friendly Anime Community

This is useful to look at to remind me what used to be in WoA to see what I have brought back. Everything in the top navbar is back except for News and Forums. Forums I don't think make sense at this point with how little activity the site has. Maybe if it becomes popular and active again I will revisit it. I don't remember what the Site link took you to. Artists Alley was where Fan Fiction and Fan Art is. I have just recently added Fan Fiction (still waiting for people to use it!) Not sure if I will have a specific Fan Art section, people can just use their image galleries for that. I have thought about integrating an anime news feed, and allowing comments on them. What do you think of that idea? Members is now the Community page which has the Members Search on it. I see a link to "My Referrals" I don't have referrals on this new version. I used to have a way you could directly email people to refer them to the site, but I wanted to get away from any potential for privacy issues. I have Newest Members and Latest Review on the homepage. I don't have a Random Anime section, but I could easily add that to just pull a random entry from the Anime Database. What do you think of that idea? Keep posting more of these if you have them, I love seeing them!

I thought you might like to see your first baby. lol I have so many amazing memories of original WOA. As for your news idea I think that would be a great idea. I think it would give users more encouragement to engage with each other. And having the Random Anime section would make this WOA feel closer to home. I love the fact that you have updated this new version of WOA after the original but still made it feel new and unique. I plan on going through all my old USB drives from when I was a teenager. I'm sure I have more images of my WOA days somewhere. I'll keep uploading them as I find them. I don't ever want to lose any of these memories.

I'll keep the idea for News and Random Anime in my head, I think those are good future additions. I tried to make the new WoA keep the look of the original as much as possible. I had to change the look a little for a couple of reasons. The homepage now allows comments, where in the original WoA there were no comments on the homepage, only on profiles. So I wanted to keep space open on the homepage for comments. Also I had to keep mobile devices in mind now when designing the look of the page. I really liked the look of the original site but it was awful on mobile devices. It basically just shrunk the entire page as much as as possible and made everything too small to be useful and you had to scroll to the right to see the rest of the site. Now with so many people using mobile I have to make sure the site works and looks good on mobile. By the way, if you happen to have any screenshots of WoA2, I would love to see those too. It might bring back some bad memories for me, but I'd still like to see them.
