Wow, I just read the news that Sony is going to stop production of physical Playstation games starting January 2028.
As a lifelong video game player, and die hard physical media fan, this is sad news for me.
I will no longer be buying Playstation because of this tbh
It's sad because I have been getting more games on PS5 specifically because I didn't like Switch 2 game key cards. When a game on Switch 2 is a game key card, I have been getting the PS5 physical version instead. Now that option will be going away in less than 2 years. Hopefully more games start coming out as proper cartridge releases on Switch 2 and not game key cards.
I'm not sure what Nintendo was thinking with game key cards, they seem so pointless and makes me not even want a Switch 2, now Playstation is doing this. I'm probably going to be a strictly PC player at this point, I see no point in buying consoles now ;_;
