Your First Anime

What is the first anime you can remember watching? And what is the show that really got you into the genre? While I watched a lot of cartoons as a kid, I don't really recall watching any anime. I know I would watch the opening to Speed Racer, just because I liked the song, but then I would turn it off and didn't actually watch it. The show that definitely got me into anime was Sailor Moon.

The first anime I ever watched was Monster. I was definitely far to young to be watching it, but I fell in love with the anime anyways. The darkness, the mystery and the unique characters. I'm actually currently re-watching it right now with my partner!! I was so happy when he said he was really enjoying the anime as well, because getting to share the anime that initially got me into anime, and that has held its spot as my favourite anime all these years means a lot to me. The next anime I watched was Tokyo Mew Mew (tied for 2nd fave with Shugo Chara) I'm a sucker for, thrillers, magical girl animes, and horror. If you also love those things, I recommend Magical Girl Site, it's so good.

Fundamentally, I don't know which one was "firist" Pokemon/ BeyBlade/ Bakugon/ Yu-Gi-Oh/ Inuyasha/ Dragon Ball/ Digimon/ B Daman/ Zatch Bell/ Sailor Moon/ Tokyo Mew Mew/ Naruto/ Cow boy Bebop/ FMA/ Bleach... But thats what was on TV And didn't see them from start to finish at the time. My older brother did though.. I was a small bean then, with no TV remote privilege yet. Years later when I got my first box computer, my FIRST CHOICE anime was Chrono Crusade. Then it was Romeo x Juliet (I bumped into this one when trying to find a pirated movie of Romeo + Juliet with Leonardo DiCaprio) After BINGE watching it all night, a few hours before grade school (did not sleep that day/cried on my way to school) I realized I liked Fantasy and heartbreaking anime. But Sailor Moon is a big favourite of mine, or even Tokyo Mew Mew. Those 2 hold a special place in my heart. Those 2 got me into drawing and also wanting to do story writing.

my first anime was the wallflower i was entranced by the plot when i was 5 years old but i only got really into anime after watching fairy tail when i was around 9

Dragon ball I remember early as a kid, though I remember really getting into it with Rurouni Kenshin and Inuyasha.

Knights of the Zodiac or more known as Saint Seiya. The armor equipping warriors theme hooked me quickly.

Naruto(Second favorite anime.), Akachan to boku(always made me so emotional.), Dragon Ball Z, HunterXHunter(my favorite.), Inuyasha(really fun to watch and got me hooked on finding similar animes.) But Naruto and HunterXHunter are what made me really love anime.

@SirQuackins Ahh, a Rurouni Kenshin fan! I loved that anime, watched all the movies too. I wish I could rewatch but I just wouldn't enjoy it as much.

I have a bias to the live action movies because of the main lead actor use to be a kamen rider lol
