How did you find World of Anime?

I joined back in 2011 I believe? All I know for certain is it was the original version. I remember back in the day when TokyoPop had a social aspect on their website. It was taken down (more than likely for good reason, but I digress...) I was looking for a space online to talk about anime with folks. I tried making my own websites and telling my friends at school about it, but I really didn't know what I was doing, so all that flopped. I then found World of Anime and was excited to be a part of the community. Back then I went by YumiHayashi and was pretty involved. I made the old banner that is still used now which was a lot of fun. I remember having fond memories of it, but since my teenage years are very much a blur, I unfortunately don't remember much other than that. At the turn of the new year, I randomly thought about this website. I'm not sure how it came up, but it did. I looked at the wayback machine on the internet archives and after having a big cringe fest (like OMG did I really say that?) I decided to see if it was still a thing. I saw the announcement it was coming back and did a little happy dance... So naturally, I got in contact about the new site and joined the moment I saw it was live.

I joined bk in version 1 when i was searching through google so im glad its back up and running again. now i can meet new and old friends who enjoy anime.

i don’t remember how i found the site, i think an old friend showed me. but i was around during either later version 1 and 2 or just version 2, its hard to say. i loved the site and meeting new people/making new friends so i just kept checking the site every time i remembered about it

​An IRL friend introduced me to WOA during version 1.0, and I became chronically active every day. I’ll admit I caused a little bit of drama back then, but LD was my bestie through all of it. ​I’ve returned because LD is obsessive and checks things constantly. He ran to tell me the second the site was back online. And he cried like a lil gworl he is.

I just found it through Google. It was right after this previous Anime RolePlay website I used to go called Anivide. It got shutdown back in 2017. But I think around early to mid 2018, that's when I found this!

I would keep checking periodically out of curiosity. I spent most of my teenage years on WOA from 2009 to 2014, so version 1 was home for me for a long time. I'm pretty sure I found WOA randomly through google. Back in '09 there really weren't a lot of choices but WOA was still the best. But I'm curious do you remember me from all those years ago?
